WE CAN DO BETTER FOR OUR ELDERLY IN BRITAIN

Writer's picture: Dr Chan AbrahamDr Chan Abraham

I was appalled to learn about Thelma Campbell, aged 89 and from the Windrush generation, who is facing homelessness because the Home Office says it cannot verify her identity.

Thelma was born in Jamaica and has lived, worked and raised her children in this country.

But now Haringey Council is demanding to see her British passport as proof of British citizenship, which she doesn’t have, before agreeing to rehouse her.

Successive governments and "oppostion" of all political parties have failed Thelma and our elderly.

This is why we need to Change Britain For Good and Independent MPs are the way forward.
