Trump Still Has the Empire Cornered, Whatever Congress Looks Like

This article is based on the Promethean Action live programme "Trump Still Has the Empire Cornered, Whatever Congress Looks Like", presented by Adam Sturman with commentators Barbara Boyd and Susan Kokinda. It sets out what the commentators said. Watch the full programme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9kS95se7Ys

The Big Picture

The programme was recorded straight after the US midterm elections, in which the Republicans suffered heavy losses. The commentators called it a "blue tsunami".

Their central message was simple: whatever Congress now looks like, President Trump still has the globalists and the British Empire cornered.

They argued that most coverage of the midterms looks only at domestic issues, plus the Iran war as a source of division. In their view, the real story is international. It is a fight between two systems: the British imperial system and the American System.

President Trump at Davos: Rejecting the "Failed Model"

Barbara opened by playing a clip of President Trump addressing Davos in 2026. She described Davos as the place where the world's elites gather and are told how to form a consensus about how the world should work. In her words, President Trump was looking Satan in the face and spitting in it.

What President Trump told Davos

In the clip, President Trump said that Washington and European capitals had come to believe the only way to grow a modern economy was through:

•         ever-increasing government spending

•         unchecked mass migration

•         endless foreign imports

•         sending heavy industry and "dirty jobs" abroad

•         replacing affordable energy with what he called the "Green New Scam"

He said the Biden administration and many Western governments followed this path. The result, he said, was record budget and trade deficits, driven by the largest wave of mass migration in history. The experts predicted his plans would cause a global recession and runaway inflation. He said they had been proven wrong.

Why it matters

Barbara said this is the fundamental conflict. President Trump is telling the elites that America is returning to being a sovereign nation state that puts its own people first, and that other nations should do the same or be destroyed.

What Is the "British Empire" Today?

Not just the United Kingdom

Following Franklin Roosevelt's wartime habit of telling the public to "take out your maps", Barbara showed a map of the Commonwealth.

She said most people think of the British Empire as a small place in the United Kingdom. That is not so. She described the Commonwealth countries as places the City of London loots perpetually for raw materials.

The City of London: the oligarchy's Wall Street

Barbara called the City of London the real Wall Street of the oligarchy. She said most of Wall Street now effectively lives there.

According to Barbara, the City survives by:

•         looting the raw materials of these countries

•         setting the prices of virtually all the world's commodities, especially oil and gas

Oil prices and the midterms

Barbara said that throughout the Iran war, the City of London manipulated oil and gas prices, driving them through the ceiling. She said it did so knowing this would create massive discontent in the run-up to the US midterms.

"A myth" that the Empire ended

Barbara said the idea that the British Empire disappeared after the Second World War is a myth. Under Biden, she said, America itself became one of those colonies, following dictates coming from places like the World Economic Forum.

President Trump's Strategy Against the Empire

The Americas and the drug economy

A second map showed the nations of Latin America. Barbara said many had been socialist governments that drove the world's narcotics and black economy, a transformation she said the oligarchy carried out with the IMF.

Under President Trump's national security doctrine, she said, this is changing:

•         Argentina changed earlier, under Milei in 2023.

•         Mexico has not fully turned but is cooperating with President Trump.

She described this as the beginning of the defeat of a massive drug empire, "Dope Incorporated", designed to drive populations into mental illness and death through fentanyl. For the US, the aim is to end fentanyl and the drug-driven homelessness in American cities.

The Middle East: peace from outside the war

A third map showed President Trump's Board of Peace. Barbara said its members, including Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, surround the main combatants: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Israel is a member.

She said this region has been kept in a "forever war" at London's direction since 1971, because perpetual conflict allows the price of oil and gas to be manipulated "on a dime".

Citing her former mentor Lyndon LaRouche, Barbara said lasting peace cannot be made between the combatants themselves, because it is a religious war. It requires a consortium of outside nations that the combatants depend on. She said this is President Trump's grand strategy.

She dismissed media claims that Israel, Qatar or Saudi Arabia "controls" President Trump as nonsense. She expected a deal involving Russia, China, the US and others to bring peace through economic development.

Defeating those who control prices

Barbara said President Trump's grand strategy is to defeat the people who control the prices everyone complains about when they talk about affordability. She said this makes his enemies so angry that they are openly willing to kill him.

A historic summit

Susan said President Trump was due to meet Putin and Xi Jinping in Shenzhen within two weeks, with signs of a three-way summit. She said a combination of the US, Russia and China, with India and Japan, could mean the destruction of the British imperial system for the first time in history.

She also pointed to the President bringing Russia and Ukraine back into the same room, and to the First Lady negotiating a six-day ceasefire.

Susan described President Trump as instinctively "a guided missile" against the evil of the British imperial system, whether or not he puts it in those terms.

Why the Midterms Went the Way They Did

"Faster horses"

Susan quoted Henry Ford: if he had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.

She said this is the Democratic Party's strategy. Its consultants find voters' pain points and promise them faster horses. But horses can only go so fast, so voters will not get what they think they are getting.

Ford instead used science and human creativity to build something that transformed society and created America's middle class. Susan said President Trump is doing the same: rebuilding manufacturing and untangling America from foreign supply chains. The jobs have not arrived yet, so people still feel the pain, and that showed at the polls.

Psychological warfare, not vote fraud

Barbara discussed a post by JD Vance that caused a storm. She said critics claimed he had thrown President Trump under the bus, but in fact he was reporting what focus groups found: voters were unhappy about the war's effect on inflation, felt President Trump had abandoned "America First", and wanted the relationship with Israel to change.

She said Vance was focused on the voters who will decide 2028. For the first time, millennials and Gen Z will make up more than half of the vote. These younger voters, she said, lack the background to understand the bigger story and are highly prone to manipulation.

Barbara described the midterms as rigged by psychological warfare rather than vote fraud. She linked this to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who had brought many minorities and former Democrats into the Republican coalition. Those were exactly the voters who broke away. Now, she said, the old Republican establishment wants to take power back from MAGA.

Poor Republican messaging

Barbara said President Trump knows how to talk to his base, but Republican Party and candidate messaging was "horrible". It relies on an outdated consultant model that spends most of the money on advertising rather than talking to voters. The Democrats, by contrast, are knocking on doors with young people all the time.

Asked why President Trump does not explain the American System directly, Barbara said he named the British Empire in 2017 and saw how they reacted. He now talks about it more indirectly, referring often to McKinley, Lincoln and the Second World War mobilisation. She said the attack on JD Vance began when he said his economics would be more Alexander Hamilton than Milton Friedman.

Election integrity

The commentators said they are not ignoring vote fraud, but it is not useful to assume every bad result was rigged. In 2024, they said, the coalition was "too big to rig". Susan urged those concerned to get involved locally, for example as poll workers, rather than complaining.

What a Hostile Congress Doesn't Change

Susan said the President's power over foreign policy and much of economic policy will not be affected by this Congress.

She expected that over the next two years:

•         some intractable conflicts will be settled

•         the manufacturing revolution will start to be felt

•         there may be bigger moves against the international financial system

She said President Trump is taking on the same imperial power America fought in the Revolution 250 years ago.

The litmus test

Susan said the test for any politician, including Senators Thune and McConnell, is whether they support President Trump's economic and strategic revolution, or at least will not stop it. She said Thune and McConnell would fail that test.

The American System Versus the British System

Wall Street is a casino

Asked about falling markets, Barbara said Wall Street reminds her of the casinos of Las Vegas, the area where she grew up. The markets are not the real economy.

Bretton Woods and 1971

Barbara said that under the Bretton Woods system, a country could negotiate a long-term development loan at fair interest, without conditions such as bans on nuclear power. It was not perfect, but it created a stable world economy with real development.

After its collapse in 1971 came what she called the casino economy. Susan said taking the dollar off the gold reserve standard "financialised" the currency, opening the door to financialising the whole economy.

Healthcare as an example

The commentators said healthcare shows the difference between the two systems:

•         The British imperial model: everything exists to extract an income stream for financial parasites further up the food chain.

•         The American System: healthcare exists to make you healthy.

Susan said HMOs (Health Maintenance Organisations), introduced in the early 1970s, put insurers between patients and their doctors. Barbara said Wall Street and hedge funds have bought up practices and hospitals, driving prices up. She believes AI, which the President calls "super intelligence", could put the best medical practice on every doctor's phone and cut these middlemen out.

Susan said the same happened with energy, as public utilities were replaced by privatised markets run by cartels.

Rebuilding with investment

Susan said President Trump is encouraging foreign companies to build factories in America, reversing free trade. They make profits, but America gets the taxes and the jobs. She gave the example of Korean investment in the Philadelphia shipyard. She added that America should be wary of foreign governments, especially China, buying land.

Barbara said much infrastructure development is being placed in the Pentagon budget, for shipbuilding, submarines and advanced technology, because Congress will vote for defence.

Citizens, not consumers

Susan said the problem is not short memories but identity. Imperial systems teach people to see themselves as victims, losers or consumers, mere cogs in a machine. She said the idea of a sovereign citizen does not exist in the UK, Canada and Commonwealth countries that still have the monarch over them.

She used the Greek myth of two brothers. Prometheus ("forethought") gave fire to mankind. Epimetheus ("afterthought") ignored his brother's warning, married Pandora and let all the evils into the world. She said voters had just behaved like Epimetheus. Barbara added that the Epimetheans of the British Empire hate visionaries like Elon Musk.

Barbara said the culture of instant gratification that followed 1971 was deliberately promoted to replace the disciplined, optimistic culture of the space programme, "the right stuff".

Reaching young people

The commentators said the answer is storytelling, as Roosevelt did with his maps and the wartime Why We Fight films. Young people need to learn America's real history and heritage, not that "we're all a bunch of racists".

Barbara added that young people can build good lives through skills. She said young people in Loudoun County trained as certified electricians for data centres are now set up with homes and stable families.

The Democrats: "Fascism Always Comes From the Left"

The "rotten side" of the party

Barbara said the new Democratic Party seen in Congress represents the rotten side of the party's history, including its role as the major component of the Confederacy.

She stated: "Fascism always comes from the left. It never comes from the right." She said calling the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) socialists is a misnomer: they are fascists.

Communism and the British Empire

Barbara said socialism, in the case of the DSA, is really communism. The question for every Democrat, she said, is: are you going for communism or Marxism to destroy the country, or not?

If so, she said, they are a tool of the modern British Empire, even if they think they are attacking it. She recommended Richard Poe's book on how the British created communism.

Obama's party

Barbara said this is Obama's Democratic Party, and that Obama is behind the DSA. She said he turned the party away from working-class voters, and that President Trump took them over. She called Obama "the cat's paw of the British Empire" in the Democratic Party.

She said James Carville calls MAGA a cult, but the real cult is Obama's Democratic Party, whose members simply read the talking points they are given.

Plans to change the Constitution

Susan said the democratic socialist agenda is to rewrite the Constitution and get rid of the Supreme Court, the Senate and effectively the presidency, turning America into "classic mob democracy". She warned that a constitutional convention would open a Pandora's box.

Barbara said the push to bypass the Electoral College through the National Popular Vote Compact is more dangerous. She expected Texas's new governor to sign it, but believes it is unconstitutional and that the Supreme Court will reject it. She said Democrats are returning to the Confederacy's tradition of states' rights, which she described as a British effort to take back America.

She also warned about Democrats wanting illegal immigrants counted in the census to keep congressional seats and Electoral College votes.

Impeachment and Hegseth

Barbara thought a direct impeachment of President Trump was unlikely, as it would make JD Vance president. Instead, she expected attacks on Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, because a colour revolution needs the military. She said colour revolutions use two themes: a stolen election, or corruption. She said she does not believe any of the corruption allegations against President Trump's family.

Can the Democratic Party split?

Barbara said the Democratic Party is in crisis. At a DSA rally, members chanted "You're next" at Hakeem Jeffries, the incoming Speaker. Many Democrats, she said, are power-hungry and will side with the DSA.

But she hoped principled Democrats such as Haley Stevens and John Fetterman would stand up, and that large sections of black voters would break away. The question for Democrats is: are you a patriot or not? She said Promethean Action hopes to split the Democratic Party "in the right way".

Barbara also welcomed signs of bipartisan support for building the electrical grid, such as a letter signed by President Trump adviser Stephen Miran calling for permitting reform. She said this is the kind of cooperation needed to rebuild the country on American System principles.

Closing: Principles, Not “Copimum” or "Hopium"

Susan answered critics who called the programme "copium" and “hopium” after the defeat. She said knowing your principles, accepting that you will lose some battles, and continuing to fight for them anyway is not copium or hopium. It is the only way to live.
