This is what Christian “street preaching“ (a historic British right) looks like – courageous, courteous, challenging, direct and inviting open, public discussion – so why does the UK government, through police and councils, want to shut it down?
Our nation has been open to Christians sharing their faith in the open air for centuries. Britain is a Christian nation, founded and built upon The Holy Bible. This doesn’t mean every citizen is a committed Christian: that would be defined as an-all-out follower of Jesus Christ. But it does mean that our culture, laws, language, democracy, way of life (and more) all spring from Biblical teachings and principles.
Public preaching, which is a historic practice and right, is intended to help people hear and think about the amazingly beautiful, life-changing and love-filled message that Jesus Christ brings.
In this video filmed in Manchester, England, you can gain a clear view of the nature of Christian open-air preaching.
When a muslim man approaches the preacher he alleges that muslims always are being attacked by Christians. When the preacher asks him to give evidence, the muslim man states that the preacher referred to pa3dophiles (which he did in the context of asking people to name what they think are bad things and who are bad people).
The problem for the muslim’s allegation is that the preacher had not once mentioned muslims.
The exchange is really informative. The preacher asks various open questions of the muslim man, and even gives citations from his (the muslim’s) own scriptures. However, not one of these receives a direct or convincing answer.
No law was broken by the Christian preacher yet Starmer’s (minority) Labour government and the preceding Tory one have created an environment in which Christians preaching in public have been intimidated, harassed and intimidated by police, arrested, jailed and dragged through the courts.
Despite judges then vindicating them this egregious abuse of power and desecration of their human rights continues.
More recently councils (Rushmoor) have attempted to impose restrictions to prevent Christian street preaching.
All this has been done while the UK government, include Khan and Rowley in London, have permitted numerous public demonstrations that irrefutably break the law. They prevent people going about their business, breach the peace and call for the k/lling of others based on their religion.
Britain continues to be, at least nominally, a “free country”. It is incumbent on all people of goodwill to think carefully about how our nation has been overtaken by these anti-British attitudes and actions, especially the weaponising of the police, justice and local government systems against Christianity.
We need to use all democratic processes to save our culture and our country. The misinformation, disinterest and apathy that prevail must be overcome by truth, open and respectful discussion and a commitment from each Citizen and Patriot to enter the conversation and be part of the solution.
