In these times of trouble, how can you find safety and peace of mind?

For centuries in Britain, people have been able to turn to God, revealed in the Bible most clearly in Jesus Christ, and find hope. In times of war, particularly remembered at this time, millions have turned to God in prayer, filling church buildings, and growing in their faith and hope.
But in 2025 many feel deeply troubled that our political leaders, our monarch and even our Church of England have shifted far from that place of Christian security and stability. They have been more active in supporting Islam and sexual politics.
This is not merely misguided and foolish: it is against the Law of God. Their only course now is to acknowledge their grave errors, called by The Bible ‘sin’, repent, which is turn from their wrongdoings, and make full amends, getting back onto the right path.
In the times of the kings of Israel, their King was required by God’s Law (Torah) personally to write, regularly read and mediate upon those Divine and Sacred requirements. When kings obeyed the nation prospered. When they disobeyed they suffered terribly. They had chosen against the God who loved and cared for them, diverted their worship and commitment to other gods, inevitably leading the nation to the most abominable and deviant practices.
In opposition to the Biblical injunction, Charles III has publicly declared his “all faiths” predisposition. However, that’s not his to choose as monarch of a Christian nation. But, he has gone further as his active engagement with Islamic events has revealed. He could do all of these, but not as King of this realm. When Edward VIII (for different reasons) chose a course that was incompatible with being King, he abdicated.
Similarly, the CoE is not maintaining the true faith handed down through the centuries, compromising with current sexual fads and culture shifts, creating confusion and the mass exodus away from it.
Miraculously, vast numbers of people, many young and especially men, are turning to faith in Jesus Christ.
Finally, Britain’s political leaders have acted against the interests of British People, breaching trust, and creating an atmosphere of anxiety and fear, breaking our economy and undermining Britain’s Christian foundations, imperilling our survival as a sovereign, free and independent nation.
All of these must be held to account. That would be first by The People, who they exist to serve, not dominate. Ultimately, it will be by The One who they have so arrogantly rebelled against.
There is no immediate, quick or easy fix to these problems.
But, as we seek to move forward, we can find hope in these ancient truths.
“The Lord is a refuge for the persecuted, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, Lord.”
Psalms 9:9-10 CSB
